Who Are We?

The Cowboy Blues Band from Collins, MS was founded December 7, 2005. The Band has worked hard to develop their craft and provide entertainment that is both unique and familiar. The band plays a genre that includes Southern Rock, Country, Motown, and Blues, and every show is an energetic experience for persons of all ages and backgrounds.
The Cowboy Blues Band includes Jessie Howell on Lead Vocals, Johnny Glover on Drums, B. C. Dueitt on Lead Guitar and Vocals, Al '' Fish" Herring on Keyboards, Vocals, and Horns, and Joe Dueitt on Bass Guitar and Vocals. Each band member's eclectic background and experience makes it easy for them to switch into different genres and provide a musical medley that is both fresh and exciting. We handle most requests with ease.
The Cowboy Blues Band was the one of the headline acts for 2007's Mississippi Gulf Coast Coliseum's Summer Fair, 2007's Cruisin' the Coast, 2007's Okatoma Cruiser's Car Show, The Hollywood Casino's Club Royale, and The Grand Casino's Grand Band Showcase. The Band has been a featured act for 2008's Mississippi Gulf Coast Coliseum's Crawfish Festival opening up for Joe Nichols. The Band Returned in 2014 to play with Charlie Daniels. The Band is the official band of the 2008-2014 Okatoma Festival in Collins, MS, and they enjoy playing events all along the Gulf Coast of Mississippi, Alabama, and Louisiana. The band was voted #1 Wedding Band in South Mississippi two years in a row.

    Jessie "Bluesman" Howell - Lead Vocals- Jessie's energy and entertaning performances can be felt throughout the entire venue, as he delivers a consitent and vibrant show each and every time. Jessie has been singing since he was three years old, and is known as the man of 1,000 songs. Jessie is the leader of the band, and knows what it takes to keep your event moving. Jessie has played on the same stages as The Jeff Healey Band, Robert Cray, Jeff Bates, Little Texas, Trace Adkins, Chuck Berry, The Howell Family, and is one of the founding members of The Cowboy Blues Band.

 

  Johnny Glover - Drums and Percussion- Johnny comes from a Country and Gospel background and has toured all over the United States with The Magnolia Boys. Johnny is a founding member of The Cowboy Blues Band and has provided drums to several local artist's recordings. Johnny provides a solid rhythm base to keep the crowd up and dancing all night long. Johnny has played on the same stages as Rodney Atkins, Joe Nichols, as well as, The Florida Boys and several other Gospel greats.

 

   Al ''Fish'' Herring - Keyboards, Horns, and Trumpet.

Fish is an accomplished trumpet player. He was a member of the R&B Memphis Horns that toured with Bo Diddly-Phil Collins-Isaac Hayes-Peter Gabriel-The Doobie Brothers-Michael McDonald-Boz Skaggs and Willie Mitchell & The Memphis All-Stars European Tour. Fish also worked with the Miami Horns and toured with The Miami Sound Machine and KC and The Sunshine Band. Fish also owns a recording studio and production company in Hattiesburg,Ms. He is an accomplished recording producer and engineer. He has produced many Broadway stage productions. He won Grammy’s for his work on albums by Bonnie Raitt and Billy Joel.

 

 

  B.C. Dueitt - Lead Guitar and Vocals - B.C. Comes from a long line of guitar players and vocalists. He started out as the Bass Guitar player for the CBB a couple of years ago and has recently taken the reigns of his first instrument, the Lead Guitar. B.C. brings a country flavor to the band, as well as, some deep woods Mississippi Blues to the mix. The harmonies and lead vocals he provides makes sure the audience gets an awesome listening experience.

 Joe Dueitt - Bass Guitar and Vocals - Straight off of some of the biggest stages in the world, Joe brings the thunder to all the CBB fans. Joe also adds lead vocals and harmony to the mix and leaves the crowd entertained and excited. Joe has played with some of the biggest acts from yesterday and today and still loves the sound and feel of an electrified audience...
